About Chitwan and National Park

Nepal Jungle Safari is the natural gift of the gangetic plains. In this pristine jungle, 90 miles south west of Kathmandu lies the world famous Royal Chitwan National Park established in 1973. It covers an area over 932 sq. km. Which shelter the endangered species viz: Wild elephants, gharial crocodiles, the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, asiatic on horned rhinoceros, Gaur (the largest of all the bovine) striped hyena.

Chitwan National Park gets sub-tropical climate. Light clothes with natural colors are recommended. During the winter months from November to early March the mornings and evenings are cold, so warm clothes are necessary. Casually comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended during the day for easy movement. We highly recommend our guests to bring binoculars, flash light, insect repellent and lotion for outdoor activities.

Park also homes to Leopard, sloth bear, Wild boar, 4 different types of deers and many other small animals. There are over 450 species of birds in the park. Endangered birds found in the park are the gaint hornbill, bengal florican, black stork & white strok. principal vegetation of the park is 70% sal forest, 7% riverine forest, 20% tall grassland (Elephant grass) 3% chirpine forest and many marshland and lakes.
